Richard Grund of Family Wealth Partners Honored in Forbes Best-in-State Advisors

Best in state 2023 Best in state 2022 Forbes

Richard S. Grund Jr. graduated from the University of Miami with a BBA specializing in international finance and marketing in 1991 and received his MBA from the University of Miami in 1996 specializing in finance. Throughout his 29-year investment career, Richard has focused on the design and management of risk-controlled portfolio strategies. He designs client portfolios to help:

  • Minimize the odds of suffering an irreversible loss

  • Maximize the chances of achieving sustainable/consistent gains

  • Control self-defeating human behavior that keeps most clients from reaching their goal (stay on track)

At Lincoln Financial Advisors, Richard’s responsibilities focused on investment analysis, research, and portfolio management. He was a regional director of investments for LFA and a member of the Lincoln Financial Advisor National Manager Selection Committee. In 1998, he started a Private Client Investment Services Division to handle high-net-worth clients for LFA advisors. With a reorganization of Lincoln Financial Advisors in 2003, he created Grund Day Advisors from that division. A boutique private wealth management firm that separates itself from other firms by the personal relationships it develops with clients, Family Wealth Partners is the union of two entities—Irwin Gross and Associates and Grund Day Advisors—that have been working together for more than two decades.

Data provided by SHOOK® Research, LLC., as of 6/30/21. Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors ranking was developed by SHOOK Research and is based on in-person, virtual, and telephone due diligence meetings to measure best practices; also considered are: client retention, industry experience, credentials, review of compliance records, firm nominations; and quantitative criteria, such as: assets under management and revenue generated for their firms. Investment performance is not a criterion because client objectives and risk tolerances vary, and advisors rarely have audited performance reports. Overall, 34,925 advisors were considered, and 6,585 (18.8 percent of candidates) were recognized. This recognition and the due-diligence process conducted are not indicative of the advisor's future performance. Your experience may vary. Winners are organized and ranked by state. Some states may have more advisors than others. You are encouraged to conduct your own research to determine if the advisor is right for you. SHOOK does not receive a fee in exchange for rankings. The full methodology that Forbes developed in partnership with SHOOK Research is available here.
